Siren of the Sea

Siren of the Sea was painted in the longing of winter over time, a couple years slowly, deep in the throws of early motherhood and toddlerhood. I wrote this below around the time the first layers were being applied, not knowing that I would later on place a figure on top in 2019.

Just when I think my heart is as open and as big as it can get, and there is a ceiling and floor to love, it ends up opening wider and expanding deeper 🌊

Perhaps this is one of the greatest secrets of life, that through releasing pain, we can open our hearts the widest 🌊

And there is no limit 🌊

Not just once or twice, but consistently 🌊

It is through the dark nights of the Soul, that we learn about the depths of our own hearts 🌊

And it is through our hearts, that the greatest understanding of not only our own painβ€”but of other peoples’ painβ€”can be absorbed, transmuted and released back out into the world as even bigger love 🌊

Wishing you time spent swept away in your own handwriting, stories, memories and the magic that comes out after you write an old story out...although uncomfortable at times...this is the storm before the calm guiding you to reclaiming the gold underneath that old story. Stick with it and you will amaze yourself.

Always,
Sarah 🌹
